June Union Meeting Highlights, 06/30/13

TCU Lodge 427 Meeting

Lodge 427 met at Blind Tiger June 11, 2013. The meeting opened in regular form with President Vega calling meeting to order and Vega invokes the opening prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Attending: President: Lori Vega P Vice President: Brenda Poles A, due to work. FST: Sandie Raney P Local chairman: Jeff Egnoske P Chaplin: Peggy Sue Smith A Secretary: Kim Minson P

Board of trustees: Chairman, Russell Valentine P; Members: Mary Douglas P, John Fisher P

Protective committee members: Samuel Wittmaier A, Jim Northrup P, Greg Shaffer P, Kevin Lattimer P

Sargent of Arms: Mark Gellar A Inner guard: Linda Stacey A, due to work. Outer guard: Wendy Giron P

All officers were present except Poles, Smith, Wittmaier, Gellar and Stacey.

President None.

Secretary's Report Reading of April minutes-Approved.

FST Report April wages, May wages(RR Taxes April, May); expenses April, May; April meals,no May meals. Lost Wages-Burger, Out of pocket expenses-Burger, Total for Community service conference' Dues from Grand Lodge, Interest, Totals CD, Checking, Grand total. Approved.

Board of Trustees Report Valentine reports 3% raise July 1.

Local Chairmans Report Egnoske reports 1)claims filed in crew. 2) 3 waivers, 1 fired, some investigations.

Attendance count: Retired 2 Active 31

Unfinished Business: none.

New Business: 1) Vega asks that we don't go to management if we have complaints or conflict with each other. Go to union first.

2) Montana Dale having fundraiser June 23 and will forward information by email.

3)Valentine reports Poles needs website service for website class. 3 plans-12mo $6.95/mo, 24mo $5.95/mo, 36mo $4.95/mo. Privacy plan $9.99/yr. Backup plan $19.99/yr. Northrup moves that we pay for 1yr plan and privacy and backup plans for 1 yr. Raney asks that we pay by Visa debit through account instead of reimbursement to Poles. Dan seconds motion, approved unanimously.

4) Egnoske has had requests to answer questions.

5)Protection comes 6yrs after anniversary date.

6)Member asks confirmation of confidentiality.

Senate Budget Supports Amtrak, High-Speed Rail , 06/28/2013

The Senate Appropriations Committee recently approved a $54 billion fiscal 2014 Transportation-HUD spending bill, setting up a fight with the House over the budget. The difference between the measures’ spending levels is about $10 billion.
